Though the Apple Intelligence suite has reportedly been pushed back to October, there are already rumors that Apple's iPhone 16 series will be on schedule in September.
Samsung and LG have begun mass-producing the iPhone 16 models' display panels in advance of the device's introduction.
Apple has placed orders for 80 million panels from Samsung and 43 million from LG, according to Korean sources. It appears that Apple has bought almost 30% more panels than the expected 90 million iPhone 16 shipments that the company would make this year.
The supply chain in Korea has "confirmed" that both Samsung and LG are currently carrying out the panel production normally in line with this order volume. Both companies will benefit from Apple's orders, with improved performance in the second half of this year.

With its supply of display panels rising by over 10 million over the previous year and capturing more than 30% of the market share it shares with Samsung, LG stands to gain the most from this. According to reports, LG is reportedly meeting its production schedule on time for the first time this year, which should help with performance.
Due to LG's delays in beginning commercial manufacturing of iPhone OLED screens in 2022 and 2023, Samsung was the only provider of the initial volume at launch.
However, compared to prior years, Samsung's numbers haven't increased significantly (in terms of Apple's orders for iPhones); nonetheless, as it supplies a larger proportion of the more costly panels for the Pro and Pro Max, its revenue is anticipated to increase. About 60% of the screens that Samsung supplies are for the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.
China's BOE may decide not to produce the iPhone 16 family since it appears to be having trouble being approved to do so.
